Buffs in Third after Two Rounds In New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of Colorado women's golf team opened its 2017-18 season here Monday with a solid first day showing at the Branch Law/Dick McGuire Invitational.
The Buffaloes are currently sitting in third place after two rounds with a 1-over par 293-284—577 scorecard. CU is in striking distance as Oklahoma State sits in first place with a two-round total of 575 and Arizona sits in second just one stroke ahead of the Buffs at 576. Northwestern is one stroke behind the Buffs with 577 while San Diego State and Stanford round out the top-five teams with 581.
Robyn Choi lead the way for the Buffs as she is tied for third place overall with a 70-71-144 scorecard. She started her first round of the day from the 16th hole and reeled off six straight pars on the par 72, 6,317-yard New Mexico Championship Golf Course. The Queensland, Australia native, went on to tally a total of 14 pars, two birdies and a bogey in her first round. She shot 1-under on both the front and back sides. Choi kept up her impressive season opener as she went on to finish 1-under par 71 in her second round. Choi recorded two birdies, 15 pars and a bogey.
Kirsty Hodgkins is tied for 15th place after two rounds. She improved as they day went on and finished with a 73-71—144 scorecard on the day. She posted a 1-over 73 in the first round and also started her day on the back nine and was consistent for a good portion of her day and led the way with a field high 30 pars
Brittany Fan posted a solid 74-71—two round total and is currently in 23rd place. Along with most of the lineup Fan improved in her second round. Fan opened up the day with an up and down first round that included five bogeys and three birdies. Fan bounced back in the second round finishing at 1-under par 71. She recorded three birdies against two bogeys.
Gillian Vance rebounded very well from her first round performance that included four bogeys, a double and a triple. But she settled down in the second round to finish with a 1-under 71 that included three birdies.
Making her collegiate debut, Alisha Lau posted a 76-76—152 scorecard. Her first 36 holes consisted of 21 pars, four birdies. Lau is sitting tied for 73 at 8-over par. Individually Jaclyn Murray made her collegiate debut as well finishing with a 81-82—163 two round total.
