The weather tonight in Los Angeles is calling for 70 degrees around kickoff with a 3% chance of precipitation.
- Isaiah Oliver is currently tied for the national lead in passes defended with nine on the year (seven PBU's and two interceptions). Iowa's Joshua Jackson has put up the same exact numbers as Oliver.
- Both teams will need to protect the quarterback tonight as, UCLA ranks 67th in sacks allowed (2.0 per game) and tied for 54th in teams sacks (2.25 per game). Colorado's defense is tied with UCLA in team sacks (2.25 per game) and ranks 121th in sacks allowed.
- Phillip Lindsay needs four more catches for 100 in his career. He would become the fourth Buff on the roster with 100 or more catches. Nationally, Colorado would become the only school to have four different players with 100+ receptions on their roster.
- Colorado won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. UCLA started its drive on its 25-yard line. The Bruins converted on fourth down to keep their drive alive and to get into Colorado territory. Shortly after, the Buffs stopped the Bruins four consecutive times. UCLA turned the ball over on downs at the Colorado 37-yard line.
- Steven Montez and the Colorado offense drove the ball down the field into UCLA territory with a first down pass to Devin Ross and on 2nd-and-12, Montez scrambled for 15 yards to keep the Buffs drive alive. After a targeting penalty on UCLA's Darnay Holmes on third down, Colorado bounced back and Steven Montez threw a 21-yard strike to Phillip Lindsay for a Buffalo touchdown.
- On the ensuing drive, Josh Rosen got into a rhythm throwing the ball, completing a 44-yard pass to Jordan Lasley. Rosen kept the drive alive with a third down sneak to the Colorado 12-yard line, two plays later Rosen threw a 12 yard touchdown pass to tie the game with 1:09 remaining in the first quarter.
- The Buffs started their drive on their 25-yard line. Steven Montez completed a 12-yard pass to Bryce Bobo for a first down. Colorado's offense seemed to be rolling to start the second quarter but a costly illegal block penalty brought back a big gain by Laviska Shenault Jr. and after a slippery scramble from Montez to Devin Ross on second-and-20, the Buffs weren't able to convert on thrid-and-10 and had to punt.
- Alex Kinney's punt was downed on the 14-yard line by the Buffs. Colorado forced a quick three-and-out after three straight incomplete passes rom Josh Rosen.
- Colorado started on its 37-yard line and on the first play from scrimmage Steven Montez went deep for Laviska Shenault Jr. for a 42-yard completion on the sideline. UCLA's defense stopped Colorado on third down and forced a field goal. James Stefanou hit from 33-yards out to give the Buffs the lead.
- UCLA's ensuing drive started with five rushes to the Colorado 47-yard line. On second down Josh Rosen went deep to Jordan Lasley who was downed on the one yard line and two plays later Jalen Starks ran the ball in for a one yard score to give UCLA the lead, 14-10 with 7:36 left before halftime.
- After a UCLA punt, Colorado started on its 13-yard line, after Phillip Lindsay 11-yard run, followed by a Steven Montez rush for 6-yards, the Buffs faced a third-and-6, which they converted on after a Jay MacIntyre 11-yard catch. The Bruins were called for back-to-back penalties during the Buffs drive which moved the ball to the UCLA 14-yard line. The Buffs attempted to fake the field but James Stefanou wasn't able to handle the pass from T.J. Patterson which gave UCLA gave the ball back to end the half.
- Colorado started the third quarter off very shaky. On the opening kickoff the Buffs were called for a block in the back and on the third down deep in their own territory, Jonathan Huckins had a bad snap and Steven Montez was sacked. Alex Kinney's punt was downed on the UCLA 42-yard line.
- UCLA took advantage of the good field postion, with three completions from Josh Rosen and from the 2-yard line, Soso Jamboa ran it in for a Bruin touchdown. Bruins lead 21-10 with 11:39 left in the third quarter.
- After the touchdown, Colorado started on its 25-yard line, Steven Montez hit Devin Ross for a 24-yard gain, Colorado kept the ball moving into UCLA territory and were faced with a touch decision on fourth-and-one on the UCLA 31-yard line. On a tricky play, Montez kept the ball and rushed for 25-yards to the UCLA 6 yard line. Two plays later, Phillip Lindsay ran it in from 2-yards out to bring the Buffs within four.
- Colorado's defense came up big after the touchdown. On a first down throw Josh Rosen, was intercepted by Evan Worthington on the Colorado 22-yard line. Phillip Lindsay ran four times after Colorado took over and also had a key fourth down conversion catch-and-run to move the Buffs to the UCLA 26-yard line. After moving the ball to the Bruin six yard line, a holding penalty on Bryce Bobo brought back a touchdown run by Montez and the Buffs had to settle for a 33-yard field goal by James Stefanou pulling Colorado within one heading into the fourth quarter.
- After a quick three-and-out, Colorado punted to the UCLA 27-yard line. The Bruins started to move the ball down the field with eight completions from Josh Rosen. UCLA drove down to the Colorado 16-yard line but after a penalty and a bad snap, they couldn't convert on third-an-15 and settled for a 33-yard field goal.
- K.D. Nixon took the ensuing kickoff to the Colorado 30-yard line. The Buffs ran the ball four times in a row including a big conversion on third down when Steven Montez busted out a 37-yard run to the UCLA 14-yard line. The Buffs struggled to find the end zone and added three more points to the scoreboard after a James Stefanou 33-yard field goal with 6:46 to play in the game with the Buffs down one to the Bruins.
- The Bruins started their drive on their 8-yard line but were able to dig themselves out of their territory after two big catches. As time continued to tick down, UCLA continued to get first downs and the Buffs weren't able to get the ball back with enough time on the clock. With 26 seconds left in the game, the Bruins kicked a 31-yard field goal.
