Buffs Prepped For NCAA Pre-Nationals

October 10, 2018 | Cross Country

BOULDER — The University of Colorado cross country teams are heading to the NCAA Pre-National Invitational in Madison, Wis., this Saturday, October 13, for their final race before the postseason begins on Oct. 26.

The top-ranked women and 11th-rated men will face off against some stiff competition with several top-30 teams racing at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The women will race against nine ranked teams, including three other top-10 squads in No. 4 Oregon, No. 7 Arkansas and No. 9 BYU. The men's team is set to go against 10 top-30 programs, which includes the reigning NCAA Champion, top-ranked Northern Arizona.

Due to the number of entries, there will be six races, three 8-kilometer races for the men and three 6k races for the women. CU will compete in the Cardinal races; there will also be White and Gray races.

The day will kick off with the women's Cardinal race at 10 a.m. CT (9 a.m. MT) and will be followed by the women's White race (10:45 a.m. CT). The men's Cardinal race will follow at 11:30 a.m. CT (10:30 a.m. MT) with the White race at 12:15 p.m. (11:15 a.m. MT). The Gray (unseeded) races will be the final two of the day with the women running at 1 p.m. CT and the men at 1:45 p.m.

A stream for the entire meet will be provided at FloTrack, but a subscription is required to view. Live stats are available as well for free.

The postseason will begin for CU on Oct. 26 at the Pac-12 Championships. Stanford will host the event at the Stanford Golf Course. More details will be available in the next week.
