CU honored by the United Soccer Coaches
KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The No. 20 Colorado women's soccer team earned its seventh straight United Soccer Coaches Team Academic honor last week. The achievement is for the 2017-18 season.
To qualify for the award a team must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
"We are excited to be recognized again by the United Soccer Coaches Association," head coach Danny Sanchez said. "Our players do a fantastic job in the classroom. They would not be able to achieve their success without the great work of the Herbst Academic Center led by our academic coordinator, Chris Howlett, and Kris Livingston. They do a fantastic job of preparing our students for success in the classroom and for when after they graduate."
Colorado finished the 2017-18 school year with a 3.25 team GPA. The Buffaloes have had a 3.0 or better for 19 consecutive semesters entering this fall. The team has had 12 consecutive semesters with a 3.2 or higher.
Last season, the Buffs had nine individuals earn Academic All-Pac-12 honors.
