Libby Geraghty earns first-team honors
SAN FRANCISCO—11 Colorado soccer student-athletes earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors the conference announced on Wednesday. Libby Geraghty led the selections as Colorado's lone first-team honoree, while Hannah Cardenas earned second-team honors.

To qualify, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, have been enrolled full time at their current institution for two or more consecutive semesters, and have participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.

Geraghty, a Greenwood Village, Colo., native, becomes Colorado's first first-team representative since Kate Scheele in 2015. The redshirt freshman holds a 4.0 GPA while majoring in integrative physiology. She earned four starts and appeared in all 20 matches for the Buffaloes. Geraghty scored her first-career goal in CU's win over Oregon. She also had three assists in her first full season. Geraghty suffered a season-ending injury in Colorado's opener in 2017.

Cardenas, a Placentia, Calif., native, is a 4.0 student, majoring in psychology. She played in 272 minutes and started three matches for Colorado before suffering a season-ending injury.

Kelsey Aaknes, Jorian Baucom, Nancy Best, Isobel Dalton, Erin Greening, Katie Joella, Sarah Kinzner, Jalen Tompkins and Scout Watson all earned honorable mention.

Colorado finished the season 13-4-3. CU set a school-record with a 16-game unbeaten streak to open the season. The Buffs also set records in goals (47), assists (50) and total points (146).
