Buffs Earn Inside Lacrosse Preseason Recognition

Inside Lacrosse names two Buffs to its preseason All-America teams
BOULDER — With the 2019 season less than two months away, the preseason awards have started to roll in for the University of Colorado lacrosse team as junior Julia Lisella and senior Miranda Stinson were named Inside Lacrosse Preseason Media All-Americans and the Buffs were picked No. 19 in the IL preseason poll.
Lisella was selected to the first team, while Stinson was named to the honorable mention team. Both played a big role in CU's success during the 2018 season, which saw the Buffaloes reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament after winning the inaugural regular season Pac-12 Championship with a 9-1 league mark.
Lisella finished her redshirt sophomore season with a list of awards. She was tabbed the IL and IWLCA Goalkeeper of the Year after recording a 13-4 mark in her first season as a starter. She was named to the Tewaaraton Top 25 List and recorded all-conference and all-region recognition. She led the Pac-12 and was 10th in the NCAA with a 50.3 save percentage and was second in the Pac-12, seventh in the NCAA, with 9.34 goals allowed.
Stinson ranked second for the Buffs in points (77) and goals (58). She was ranked 39th in the NCAA (second in the Pac-12) with her 58 goals and was 48th in the nation in goals per game (2.90). Stinson led the Pac-12 with shots per game (8.15), which was also fifth in the NCAA, and was second in the Pac-12 in shots on goal per game (5.65), which was 15th in the NCAA. Stinson was named to the all-region and all-conference first teams.
The Buffs recorded a 14-6 mark in 2018 and return eight starters and 22 letterwinners. CU has also added 12 freshman to the roster. The season will open up on February 9 with the Buffs hosting Florida, which was picked seventh in the IL preseason poll. The complete schedule will be released once the Pac-12 Network schedule is finalized.
