Colorado Football Summer Camps Announced

February 19, 2018 | Football

BOULDER – The Colorado football program will offer four different varieties of summer camps this offseason, giving young football enthusiasts a chance to learn and interact with the Buffaloes.

In the programs sixth year under head coach Mike MacIntyre and 35th year overall, the University of Colorado Football Camps have become among the nation's best. The majority of the schedule is spent on the field in actual game situations and teaching/drilling of fundamentals and techniques of each position. You will also learn about the Colorado Football program and what it takes to be a BUFF.

All four camps will be held in the month of June at CU's football practice fields and are designed for a variety of ages, skill sets and positions.

The first of the summer is the Youth Skills Camp, being held June 4-7. It is for any and all kids entering the first through eighth grades and will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon on those three days.

This non-contact camp is coached by current CU coaches and players. Its purpose will be to encourage youth participation in physical activity and help develop the skills and fundamentals associated with the sport of football. Campers will learn techniques at all positions, the value of teamwork and compete in our fast-paced games of Buff-Ball.

CU's second camp is the High School Individual Camps that is comprised of two one-day, non-contact camps for individual high school football players. Each position will be taught and supervised by the CU coaching staff and campers will have the ability to receive instruction in one or more positions.

Due to NCAA rules, all participants in these camps must be between the ages of those entering ninth grade through those entering their second year at a two-year institution. The two camp dates are June 10 or June 20, both running from 1-4 p.m.

The Buffalo Shootout 7-on-7 Tournament will run on June 14 from 10-2 p.m. This passing tournament includes round-robin play and a single elimination tournament, with the championship round being played in Folsom Field. Teams will be guaranteed four games (three round-robin and entrance into the single elimination tournament).

Cost for participation is $25 per player (no size limitations per team). All payments must be submitted as a team, not on an individual basis. Space is limited and registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The final camp is the CU Kicking Camp being held on June 18 from 10-1 p.m. Cost is $75 for this one-day camp that will teach kicking fundamentals.

Camps are open to any and all based on the age range of each camp.
