BOULDER - The awards keep coming in, as Colorado senior attacker, Darby Kiernan, adds Alpha Lacrosse National Player of the Week to her resume.

Kiernan has also been named the Brine Lacrosse/US Lacrosse National Player of the Week and the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Buffs past then-No. 18 Stanford and California last week. She tallied 15 points in the two games (11 goals and four assists), while also collecting 16 draw controls and four ground balls.

After recording eight points in Friday's upset win over Stanford, Kiernan entered the game against California with 216 career points, just two points behind the program's record (218). Her third goal against California surpassed the previous record, and she now leads the Buffaloes with 223 career points.

Kiernan recorded 33% of the fan votes in an impressive field. Maryland's Caroline Steele had five goals and two assists against Syracuse, Loyola's Taylor VanThof had 17 draw controls and seven goals, including the overtime goal against Towson, and James Madison's Haley Warden had five goals in a win over Penn State.

This is the first national honor for the Buffs this year, as they now improve to 5-2 (2-0 Pac-12) on the season after four straight victories at home. They have moved up to the 14th spot in the Cascade/Inside Lacrosse media poll and 15th in the IWLCA and NIKE/US Lacrosse Magazine polls.

CU is on the road this week as they take on No. 12 Southern California in Los Angeles on Friday, March 16, and, for the first time, Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz. on Sunday, March 18.
