Buffs Have Successful Day Competing in Golden

The Buffs brought home a few first place wins after competing in the Kit Mayer Invitational in Golden
 
GOLDEN, Colo. — The Colorado track and field team sent a small team down to Golden on Saturday to compete in the Kit Mayer Invitational. 
 
Nine women and 17 men competed in the meet that was hosted at Stermole Track & Field Complex and Crouch Field Events Complex. Despite the limited number of Buffs competing today, the track & field team had a great day. Colorado had numerous first place winners, as well as top five finishers.
 
First Place Finishes:
 
Junior Davion Taylor took home first place in the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.72. Duane McClurkin Jr. clocked in at 20.96 for first place in the men's 200-meter dash, followed by Jon Maas who finished at 21.01 for second place for Colorado. Nathan Hoy finished the men's 400-meter hurdles in 54.30 for another first place win for the Buffs.
 
Rajon O'Quinn and Alexandria Peters finished first and second in the women's 200-meter dash with times of 24.12 and 24.19 respectively. Maja Wichhart-Donzo had a very successful day, bringing home first place in both the women's 100-meter hurdles and triple jump.
 
It was an overall great day for the Buffs

Tomorrow the Colorado track & field team will send a small contingent of throwers to compete in Greeley at the NoCo Challenge.
