Tompkins Picks Up Pac-12 Honor

October 01, 2019 | Soccer

SAN FRANCISCO–. Senior Jalen Tompkins was announced as the Pac-12 Conference's Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday. It marks the second consecutive week a member of the Colorado soccer team has been selected as one of the top weekly performers by the conference.

For Tompkins, it is her seventh career Goalkeeper of the Week nod. Overall, it is CU's 22nd weekly honor since joining the conference in 2011.

Tompkins, a Phoenix, Ariz., native, returned to her home state last week to help the Buffaloes to a 2-1 overtime win over Arizona. Tompkins made four saves in the win. She did not allow an opponent to score against her, with Arizona getting the first goal of the game on an own goal.

Tompkins is 9-1-0 this season, playing every minute in net for the Buffs. She has made 33 saves this season with a .846 save percentage. Tompkins and the Buffs have recorded six shutouts this season, giving her 23 on her career.

Colorado returns home to Prentup Field this week for a pair of matches. The Buffs host Oregon on Thursday (3:30 p.m.) and Oregon State on Sunday (2 p.m.).
