Colorado Prepares for Indiana State

The Buffs and Sycamores tipoff at 2 p.m. on Tuesday
BOULDER. – JR Payne and the Colorado women's basketball team will play their third game in five days on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will host Indiana State in a matinee affair, tipping off at 2 p.m. MT.
The Buffs are off to a 5-0 start to the season and have recent wins over Colorado State and Jacksonville in the current three-game stretch. Tuesday's game will be the first meeting between the Sycamores and the Buffs.
Colorado has had to battle through rough stretches in each of the last two games. The Buffs have had 42 turnovers the last two games, a number Payne would like to see cleaned up.
"We have to be able to take care of the ball," Payne commented. "Jacksonville is a really good defensive team. Their last game they forced 35 turnovers. We have to be able to take care of the ball more effectively. Indiana State will be very similar. They are a great defensive team. We have to do better."
The Sycamores find themselves in a unique situation this season. They flipped their entire roster over, bringing in 14 new players for the 2019-20 season. So far this season they have averaged 66.0 points per game while allowing their opponents to score the same number.
The game will be Colorado's last of November. CU has enjoyed the first month of the season, playing to a 24-1 record since Payne took over the bench in 2016.
The Buffs had its best shooting night of the season at Colorado State, hitting 55.1 percent from the field. Colorado followed up with its lowest shooting percentage of the season (39.3) against Jacksonville on Sunday. Colorado got behind by nine early on Sunday and surged back to earn the 22-point win.
"I would rather just be up by 20 the whole game where everyone is comfortable and it feels good," Payne joked. "The reality is that doesn't help you become a better ballclub. We need to see these different types of teams. We need to be able to go from a CSU to a Jacksonville and be able to mentally and emotionally adjust and get on the same page. This is good for us."
Tuesday's game will be streamed on CUBuffs.com.
