
Three Buffs Named In Pac-12 Postseason Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Colorado women's volleyball squad boasted three student-athletes on the 2019 All-Pac-12 postseason honors, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Freshman Sterling Parker becomes the fourth Buff in the past three years to be named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman squad and also earns an All-Pac-12 honorable mention. She is joined on the honorable mention list with senior Justine Spann and sophomore Jenna Ewert.
Parker was 29th overall in kills in the conference season with 172, good for fourth among all freshman in the conference. She also hit .264, good for second behind middle blocker and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Magda Jehlarova. Parker finished the season with 11 double-digit kill performances including matching her career-high 16 kills against Oregon where she hit .538.
Spann finished the conference season seventh in total kills with 245. The senior led the team with 378 total kills this season and also dished out 30 aces, becoming just the sixth player in school history to reach the mark in the rally scoring era. Spann was also tied for seventh in total aces in the Pac-12 and finished ninth in conference points scored.
Ewert finished seventh in the conference in assists with 683, averaging just under 9.5 per set. She was also fourth in the conference in kills by a setter and fourth in digs by a setter. Ewert finished the season with 1,010 total assists and is now ninth in school history in career assists.
UCLA's Mac May was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year, while Stanford repeated with Jenna Gray named the Setter of the Year and Morgan Hentz taking the Libero of the Year. It was both Cardinal student-athletes third time winning the honor. Utah Head Coach Beth Launiere earned her first Pac-12 Coach of the Year honor in her 30th season leading the Utes.
