Buffs Picked Second In Pac-12 Preseason Poll

SAN FRANCISCO — The University of Colorado Buffaloes were picked second overall in the Pac-12 Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced on Monday afternoon by the league's office.

The Buffs earned 21 points, which included one first-place vote, to finish behind the preseason favorite: Stanford. The Cardinal recorded five first-place votes and 25 points to finish in front of Colorado.

Southern California placed third in the poll with 17 points and Oregon came in fourth (13 points). California was fifth overall (eight points) and Arizona State was selected sixth (six points).

Colorado won the regular season Pac-12 Championship last year with a 9-1 record, but fell in the tournament championship to Stanford, which was 8-2 in league play.

The regular season officially gets underway for the Buffs on Saturday, February 9. The Buffs host Florida at 12 p.m. at Kittredge Field in Boulder. The conference opener is set for March 8 at Stanford.
