March 11, 2019 | Lacrosse
BOULDER — After the University of Colorado lacrosse team recorded back-to-back wins to start Pac-12 Conference play, senior Miranda Stinson was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. The Buffs are also 23rd in the latest IWLCA Poll.
Stinson recorded 14 points in a pair of wins as the Buffs opened league play last weekend. She started the weekend off with six points, four goals and two assists, in CU's 20-13 upset of No. 15 Stanford on March 8. She also recorded three draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnover.
Then two days later on March 10, she broke CU's single-game goals record with eight against California. Six of those came in the first half, which was also a CU record for most goals in a half. Stinson added another three draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover. CU won the game 17-11.
In the IWLCA poll, the Buffs remained 23rd for the second straight week and are one spot behind Pac-12 foe Southern California. Stanford fell from 15th to 18th.
Colorado is back at Kittredge Field this weekend with games against USC and Arizona State on March 15 and 17, respectively.
