Three Buffs Earn All-Academic Honors

SAN FRANCISCO – Three Colorado women's basketball student-athletes earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors the conference announced on Thursday. Kennedy Leonard, Annika Jank and Aubrey Knight were all selected honorable mention.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, have been enrolled full time at their current institution for a minimum of one year, and have participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions with the exception of injury.
Leonard, a senior from Southlake, Texas, became CU's all-time assist leader, finishing her final season with 664 helpers. She averaged a school-record 6.8 assists per game this season to go along with her team-leading 12.6 points per game. Leonard was forced out of the lineup for 10 games this season due to injury, snapping a streak of 100 consecutive starts. She has now earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors the past three seasons.
Jank, a sophomore from Edina, Minn., was a pivotal part of Colorado's second rotation in 2018-19. She averaged 6.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season. She posted a season-high 25 points in CU's win over North Carolina, hitting a career-high 10 field goals along the way. Jank earned a sprinkling of starts throughout the season (9) and picked up a double-double against Stanford (10 points, 10 rebounds).
Knight, a sophomore from Ventura, Calif., appeared in three games for Colorado before suffering a season-ending injury to her shoulder. She scored seven points in the Buffs' opener against Northern Colorado and played 10 minutes off the bench against Colorado State before the injury. Knight returned to action at Nevada but reaggravated the injury and missed the rest of the season.
The Buffs wrapped up the 2018-19 season with a 12-18 record. Colorado bowed out of the Pa-12 Tournament with a first-round loss to fifth-seeded and 20th ranked Arizona State last Thursday.
