CU to Participate in Open Training Week

Colorado soccer invites local coaches to training session

BOULDER – Colorado women's soccer will once again participate in the United Soccer Coaches' Open Training Week set for Wednesday, April 3. The training session will begin at 10:30 a.m. MT at Prentup Field.
 
This nationwide initiative provides an opportunity for coaches from all levels and backgrounds to experience new environments, observe high-level training sessions and learn from one another. Men's and women's teams at the college and professional levels will welcome local soccer coaches in their communities to attend a practice with the goal of united coaches around the love of the game.

Sanchez will enter his eighth season at the helm of the Buffaloes in 2019. He has an 83-48-18 (.617) record with the Buffs and has led Colorado to the NCAA Tournament four times since 2013. Prior to CU, Sanchez was the head coach at Wyoming for four years and Metro State for six seasons, leading the Roadrunners to two NCAA Division II national championships. Sanchez was inducted to both the Metro State Athletics the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Hall of Fames in 2018.
 
The Buffs are coming off a 13-win season in 2018, finishing 13-4-3 overall. Colorado rose as high as No. 15 in the country last season, totaling a program-record 16 game unbeaten streak. CU set school-records in goals (47), assists (52) and total points (146).
