#NFLBuffs: Lindsay Returns To His Regular Form In Week Three

September 25, 2019 | Football

This past week saw a balance of solid offensive and defensive performances, with Phillip Lindsay leading the charge for the NFL Buffs.

Lindsay posted a career-high 21 rushes for a total of 81 yards and two touchdowns, giving him his first points of the 2019 season. He also added 49 receiving yards on four receptions.
His second touchdown of the day did not come easy as he barreled his way through multiple Packers defenders to pull the Broncos within a single score deficit.
Paul Richardson found himself in the end zone for the second week in a row as he posted 8 receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown in a 31-15 loss to the Bears.
Mason Crosby had a strong outing for the Packers as he accounted for a third of their 27 total points, helping them defeat the Broncos 27-16. Crosby was 3-3 on point-after attempts and 2-3 on field goals, with a long of 42 yards. David Bakhtiari and the Packers' offensive line had a great day as well, allowing only one hit on quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
On the opposite side of the ball, a duo of former Buffs had strong performances for their respective teams.

Chidobe Awuzie recorded eight tackles, five of which were solo, and one pass breakup on his way to helping the Cowboys defeat the Dolphins 31-8. Additionally, Falcons cornerback Isaiah Oliver tallied seven tackles (six solo) and two pass breakups in a 27-24 loss to the Colts.

Ahkello Witherspoon recorded two solo tackles in the first half of the 49ers' 24-20 victory over the Steelers, but suffered a foot injury in the second half that forced him to sit out the remainder of the contest. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed Witherspoon suffered a foot sprain and is going to miss "at least a month" before returning to action.
