Ewert Leads Colorado to Buff Invitational Title

Spann and Schneggenburger named All-Tournament team
BOULDER – The 2019 Buff Invitational has concluded following Wyoming's defeat of Long Island in Laramie, with the University of Colorado women's volleyball team claiming the tournament title along with three spots on the All-Tournament team.

CU's perfect weekend was capped off with sophomore setter Jenna Ewert being named the Buffs Invitational Most Valuable Player. Ewert was joined by outside hitters Justine Spann and Jill Schneggenburger who were named to the All-Tournament team.

Ewert dished out 99 assists (9.9 per set) in a pair of sweeps and three wins. She had two double-doubles, leading the Buffs in digs both matches on Saturday with 15 digs. She also added in six blocks and eight kills.

Spann was the largest beneficiary, putting down 42 kills in three matches including a 21 kill performance in four sets against UC-Santa Barbara. Schneggenburger also benefitted with two double-digit kill performances including her first double-double of her career.

The women are joined by UCSB's Lindsey Ruddins and Rowan Ennis, along with Long Island's Kora Schaberl and Wyoming's Jackie McBride.
