Buffs Remain 18th In First Regular Season IWLCA Poll

BOULDER — — After starting the season ranked 18th in the IWLCA Preseason Poll, the University of Colorado lacrosse team stayed there in the first regular season poll after opening the season with a narrow 11-10 loss at then-No. 14 Florida on Feb. 8.
The Buffaloes have only played one game through the first two weeks of the season, but will be back in action this weekend with a pair of games. CU will host Harvard on Friday, Feb. 21, at 4 p.m. MT at Kittredge Field, before hitting the road to take on No. 14 Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. MT.
North Carolina, which was second in the preseason poll, is the top-ranked team in the country and picked up all 25 first-place votes this week. Notre Dame moved up from seventh to second this week, while Maryland, the preseason favorite, dropped from first to third. Florida moved up to fourth after starting the season 14th and Stony Brook also made a big move, jumping up from 12th to fifth.
Three Pac-12 Conference teams are ranked in the IWLCA top-25. Southern California leads the trio at 13th, while CU is second (18). Stanford comes in at 24th.
The Buffs are also ranked 20th in the Maverik Media Poll and the NIKE/US Lacrosse Magazine Poll.
