Buffs Move To 21st In IWLCA Poll

February 24, 2020 | Lacrosse

BOULDER — The Colorado lacrosse team has moved to 21st in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Poll, as announced on Monday.

The Buffaloes (1-2) split games this past week. They defeated Harvard in the home opener on Friday at Kittredge Field, before suffering a loss to No. 14 Michigan on Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

North Carolina remained the top-ranked team in the poll, collecting all 25 first-place votes for 625 points. Notre Dame also stayed put this week at second with 598 points. Stony Brook moved up to third from fifth, while Syracuse jumped to fourth from seventh. Rounding out the top five is Loyola, which jumped seven positions from 12th.

The Pac-12 Conference continues to have three teams in the IWLCA top-25 with Southern California leading the way at 11th. Behind the Buffs (21st) is Stanford at 24th.

CU fell out of the other two national polls, the Maverik Media and NIKE/US Lacrosse Magazine, as both are only top-20 polls.

The Buffs are idle this week. They will be back in action on Friday, March 6, in their Pac-12 home opener against Oregon. CU will also host Coastal Carolina that week on Sunday, March 8.
