Three Buffs Earn Postseason Honors

Mya Hollingshed, Quinessa Caylao-Do and Jaylyn Sherrod recognized by the Pac-12
SAN FRANCISCO – Three Colorado women's basketball players were honored on by the Pac-12 Conference with the announcement of the league's postseason awards on Wednesday. Mya Hollingshed, Quinessa Caylao-Do and Jaylyn Sherrod each garnered honors.
Hollingshed, a junior from Houston, Texas, earned her first All-Pac-12 honor, receiving honorable mention. She put together her best season as a Buff, averaging career-highs in points (13.1) and rebounds (6.9). Hollingshed leads the Buffs in field goal percentage (43.1) and has shot 30.6 percent from 3-point range. She has led Colorado in scoring eight times this season and has scored a season-high 22 points on three occasions. Defensively, Hollingshed has totaled 22 blocks and 36 steals, both career-high marks.
Caylao-Do, CU's lone senior, picked up her second consecutive honorable mention All-Defensive honor. She started 23 of her 27 games this season, missing time due to a concussion. The Tacoma, Wash., native, has 28 steals and seven blocks this season. She is averaging 2.9 rebounds per game, getting 43 on the defensive glass. She twice snagged a season-high seven rebounds this season and had a career-high four steals against Arizona State.
Sherrod, a freshman from Birmingham, Ala., bust onto the scene in Boulder this season, earning All-Freshman honors. She handed out a season-high 11 assists in her Colorado debut, marking the most by a CU player in her first game since 1979. Sherrod is averaging 5.1 assists per game (32nd NCAA) and ranks third on CU's freshman assist list and tied for ninth on CU's single-season list with 147 this season (25th NCAA). Sherrod scored a season-high 21 points at Stanford and led the team in scoring on four occasions. She recorded her lone double-double in CU's win at Utah, totaling 19 points and 10 assists on her way to earning Freshman of the Week honors. Sherrod is third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.0 points per game headed into the Pac-12 Tournament.
Colorado will land in Las Vegas late Tuesday night and practice on Wednesday in preparation for its first-round matchup against Southern California on Thursday. It will be the second time in five days that the Buffs and Trojans will meet on the hardwood. Colorado is 1-1 on the season against USC with each team getting a win on its homecourt.
