Fleckenstein, Forejtek Named RMISA Skiers of the Meet
February 20, 2021 | Skiing
BOULDER – Juniors Filip Forejtek and Stef Fleckenstein were both named the RMISA Skiers of the Meet for the RMISA Championships, the league announced Saturday. Â
Forejtek finished second in the slalom race and sixth in the GS race at the RMISA Championships, picking up the honor in the last opportunity of the 2021 season. Â He was tied with Montana State's Louis Muhlen-Schulte, who finished second in the GS and sixth in the slalom, but won on the tiebreaker of adding times together. Â He lost to Muhlen-Schulte by .73 seconds in the slalom but won by 1.14 in the GS. Â
Fleckenstein finished second in the GS race and fourth in the slalom to earn the award, also on the last opportunity of the season. Â She was the runner up in the GS race and took fourth in the slalom race. Â
Due to COVID, this is the first time the award has been given with both a GS and slalom race being used as the qualifying mark. Â All four regular season meets were the same discipline, two GS and two slalom. Â
Skiers can win once per season and the winner is determined by the skier who scores the most NCAA qualification points in a given meet. Â Magnus Boee won earlier in the season on the Nordic side for the RMISA Invitational at Utah. Â
Magnus Boee was also given the award after the first meet of the season on the Nordic side, the RMISA Invitational at Utah.Â
