Cross Country and Indoor Track & Field Prepped For Busy Weekend

BOULDER — It will be a busy weekend for the University of Colorado cross country and indoor track & field program with both squads competing this weekend.

The cross country teams will start off the action on Friday, February 5, at the FSU Winter Classic, in Tallahassee, Fla. Florida State is hosting the meet at Apalachee Regional Park, starting at 9 a.m. EST. There are four races, two per gender, and the Buffaloes have athletes entered in the Garnet races. The men will race an 8,000-meter course, while the women will run a 6,000-meter course.

Showers are likely, starting at 7 a.m. EST and continuing through the races. The temperature should be around 60 degrees Fahrenheit when the first race starts and winds are predicted to range from 6-8 mph. 9 a.m. – Garnet Men's 8,000m
9:30 a.m. – Garnet Women's 6,000m
10 a.m. – Gold Men's 8,000m
10:30 a.m. – Gold Women's 6,000m

CU's throwing, jumps and combined events squads will compete Feb. 5-6, at the Mines Front Range Meet #2, in Golden, Colo. In total, 15 women and nine men will compete in every discipline of field events along with the combined athletes competing in the 60 hurdles.

Action begins Friday at 4 p.m. with all field events, followed by the hurdles at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
