SAN FRANCISCO — Colorado women's volleyball graduate student Meegan Hart was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player Of The Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Monday.
This is Hart's fourth Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honor in her career, the most of any volleyball player in CU history in one category. She joins Naghede Abu who had three Defensive honors and one Freshman honor, and trails only Brynna DeLuzio who has five total with four coming as Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors.
Hart led the Buffs with a .487 hitting percentage in the first-ever weekend sweep of the LA schools in CU history. She totaled 21 kills, including 12 against UCLA. She also added nine blocks, averaging 1.13 per set.
The graduate student is fifth in the NCAA in total hitting percentage at .430 and 77th in blocks this season. She leads the conference in hitting percentage and is fourth in blocks behind teammate Alexia Kuehl.
The Buffs' middles have dominated the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors, picking up four of the 10 this season. The last time a single team had four weekly honors on the defensive side was Stanford in 2019.
Stanford took the other two honors with Caitie Baird earning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week and Elia Rubin earning the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors.
