Buffaloes Close Out Fall At Colorado Cup
November 02, 2022 | Tennis
BOULDER- The University of Colorado women's tennis team finishes its fall tournament season in Denver at the Colorado Cup this Friday through Sunday.
Â
Colorado will join Colorado State, Air Force, and the host school the University of Denver in the tournament. Seven players on CU will be taking the trip to Denver.
Â
The Buffaloes will be facing off against familiar faces. Colorado has competed against athletes from the schools in the Colorado Cup in their last three tournaments, including the ITA Regional Championships that took place just two weeks ago.
Â
Every match this weekend will be taking place at the Denver Tennis Park at their indoor facility. The Buffs kick off the dual tournament on Friday against Denver at 10 am. On Saturday, CU takes on Air Force at 1:30 pm. Finally, they wrap up the weekend on Sunday against instate rival CSU at 9 am.
Â
Colorado looks to build off their success from the ITA Regionals where Mila Stanojevic and Elys Ventura reached the semifinals of the doubles tournament before losing in three sets. Antonia Balzert also made a run to the quarterfinals in the Flight A singles tournament. They will be looking to improve upon their finishes in their last matches of the year.
Â
The Colorado Cup is the final action for the Buffs in 2022. Their spring season begins here in Boulder on Jan. 20, when they take on Weber State.Â
