PULLMAN – The Colorado women's tennis team dropped a conference match to Washington State 4-2 here Friday afternoon to move to 0-3 in conference matches this season.

The Buffaloes (5-6, 0-3 Pac-12) dropped their fourth-straight doubles point as Washington State (5-8, 1-2 Pac-12) ended an eight-match losing streak with the win. Colorado is 2-9 this season in doubles points.

After losing the doubles, Megan Forster quickly tied things up with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No.4 singles match against Elyse Tse. Forster is 22-4 in games since being down 5-3 in the first set against Air Force.

Joining her in impressive streaks is Mila Stanojevic. The freshman won the No.5 singles match 6-2, 6-2 against Hania Abouelsaad. Since losing her first match in 13 tries against UCLA, Stanojevic hasn't surrendered more than three games in a set to an opponent. In her three-match win streak she has won 36 games while letting up only 10.

The match was a close one in the middle with the top-three singles matches all going three sets. Maria Campos won the first set in the No.3 singles match 6-2, but dropped the next two 6-3, 6-1. Antonia Balzert made her season debut at the No.1 singles match and traded 6-4 sets with Michaela Bayerlova before falling 6-0 in the third set. The match was clinched when Caroline Pozo fell in the No.2 singles match by a score of 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.

The clinching match was tied up 4-4 in the third set, looking like things were going to come down to the No.6 singles match where Betina Tokac dropped the first set 6-4 but was up two games to none in the second set.

The Buffaloes continue their road weekend Sunday at No.17-ranked Washington Sunday at noon MT.
