March 14, 2022 | Lacrosse
BOULDER — The University of Colorado lacrosse team is ranked 25th in the latest IL Women/IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll, the IWLCA announced Monday.
Â
The ranking marks the second consecutive week CU has been ranked in the poll as Colorado was 23rd last week. The Buffs are also receiving consideration in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll. They were 19th in the previous rankings.
Â
The Buffaloes recorded a 5-0 start to the season but had a tough start to their conference season, dropping both games to USC and Arizona State last weekend on the road to open Pac-12 play 0-2. CU will stay on the road for another conference contest against Oregon this Friday, March 18.
Â
Colorado is one of two Pac-12 teams ranked in the IL Women/IWLCA poll as USC is also ranked. The Trojans are 15th with a 5-1 record (2-0 Pac-12) and are 13th in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll.
Â
Boston College is the top team in both polls and North Carolina is second. Both have recorded 8-0 starts this season. Those starts, and rankings, will be put to the test this weekend as the two square off on March 20.
