SHARP SHOOTERS: Colorado enters the week as the No. 1 3-point shooting team in the country, hitting 51.7 percent from downtown. That mark is even better if you take out the first half of the season-opener against Towson where the Buffaloes missed all seven attempts from 3-point range. Colorado has made 31 of its last 53 from downtown (.585).
The Buffaloes were 13 of 20 from 3-point range against Milwaukee. The 65 percent from 3-point range is the best mark with a minimum of 10 made 3-pointers since the Buffaloes were 12 of 18 (.667) against Northern Colorado on Dec. 13, 2014.
Colorado leads the Pac-12 and ranks sixth in NCAA Division I in field goal shooting at 55.7 percent. The Buffaloes shot a season-best 58.7 percent hitting 37 of 63 shots against Milwaukee.
Shooting above 50 percent is traditionally a great sign for the defensive-minded Buffaloes. Colorado is 97-7 when shooting 50 percent or better in the coach Tad Boyle era (since 2010-11) and have won 15 of 16 and 33 of its last 36. It was the seventh overall double-double for Lampkin who had six with TCU.Â
Lampkin is averaging 9.3 points per game and is tied for 12th in the Pac-12 in field goal accuracy at 57.1 percent.
Freshman Cody Williams had a break-out game in the win over Milwaukee with 17 points. The 2023 McDonald's All-American missed the Grambling State game with a minor injury but showed no effects against Milwaukee hitting 6 of 9 from the field with five rebounds and four assists.
