Buffs Sign Seaton To National Letter of Intent
December 22, 2023 | Football
BOULDER – Jordan Seaton, a five-star offensive tackle rated as the top offensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class, has singed a national letter of intent to play football and continue his education at the University of Colorado, Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders announced Friday.
A unanimous five-star recruit and top ranked offensive tackle in the class, Seaton is ranked as high as the No. 6 player in the nation and not lower than the No. 25 player by the recruiting services and according to 247 Sports, he is the third-highest ranked player CU has signed since 2000, and just the sixth five-star player to sign with Colorado in that time frame.
He is the third five-star player to sign with Colorado under Coach Prime, doubling the total of five-star signees in at least the past 24 years. Last season, Colorado signed Cormani McClain from high school and Travis Hunter out of the transfer portal, both rated as five-star players.
Seaton hails from Washington DC and played his senior season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., after playing at St. John's College High School for three years. He earned MaxPreps First-Team All-American honors and is on the roster for both the All-American Bowl All-Star game in San Antonio on Jan. 6 on NBC (10 a.m. MT) and for Team Ice in the UA Next All-America game on Jan. 3, in Orlando (2 p.m. MT).
He was also recently named to the Maxwell Football Club Munger Award Semifinalist as the High School Player of the Year and is one of just two offensive linemen on the 15-member offensive list for that award. As both a sophomore and junior, he was named a Max Preps All-American for those classes and also played on the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl.
Seaton is the 22nd member of the 2024 Newcomer Class for the Buffaloes, sixth high school signee along with 16 transfers. He is the fifth offensive lineman to join the Buffs in class along with Kahlil Benson (transfer from Indiana), Tyler Johnson (transfer from Houston), Justin Mayers (transfer from UTEP) and Yakiri Walker (transfer from Cincinnati).
Seaton joins Drelon Miller (WR from Silsbee, Texas) and Kam Mikell (Athlete from Stateboro, Ga.) as top 100 recruits to sign with the Buffs this class, both rated as four-star players. CU also signed Brandon Davis-Swain (DL from West Bloomfield, Mich.), also rated as a four-star commit.
Per 247, this is just the third time since 2000 that CU has signed three top 100 players out of high school and is the fifth time CU has signed four or more four- or five-star players in that timeframe, and with easily the smallest overall class size. Counting the top-ranked transfer class signees, CU now has 10 four- or five-star commits in this class, tied for the most in CU history with last season (out of 72 eventual newcomers) and the nine four-star newcomers is a CU record for a signing class.
