Fresh off a five-save shutout of No. 14 Michigan State

SAN FRANCISCO—Colorado sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Nytes recorded two shutout wins last week and earned her first Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week honor as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Nytes, an Aurora, Colo., native, helped the Buffs improve to 3-1-0, capping the weekend off with a 2-0 win over No. 14 Michigan State. She made five saves against the Spartans and opened the week with two saves against Colorado College. Nytes is currently tied for third in the conference with 14 saves.

Nytes is one of three keepers in the conference to allow just one goal against this season. She's also tied for the Pac-12 lead in save percentage (.933) and goals against average (0.25). Her three shutouts are also tied for the most in the conference and are second in the NCAA through four games this season.

This is the first Pac-12 weekly honor the Buffs since Shyra James earned Offensive Player of the Week to start the 2022 season (Aug. 22). Nytes is the first CU goalkeeper to take home the weekly award since Dani Hansen's win on April 12, 2021.

Nytes, the co-Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year in 2022, won two Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week awards last season at Oklahoma State.

Additionally, Nytes was named National Player of the Week by Top Drawer Soccer on Tuesday.

Colorado remains at home this week, hosting NC State on Thursday (7 p.m. MT) and Purdue on Sunday (Noon).
