Ana Burilovic Named MVP of U20 Volleyball European Championship Classification Tournament
January 09, 2024 | Volleyball
Croatia finished first in the tournament, with CU's very own Ana Burilovic taking home MVP honors. The Croatian Women's team took down Slovenia in the gold medal match in four sets (3-1).
Ana propelled Croatia to victory thanks to her 16 kills, four services aces, and four blocks in the gold medal match. She had the second most kills in the match overall only trailing her teammate, but led in service aces and accounted for half of her teams' blocks.Â
Because her team won the tournament, they have earned direct qualification for the upcoming European Championship this summer. The European Championships will take place in Bulgaria and Dublin in July 2024.

2023 Season Overview
Burilovic is coming off an impressive Freshman campaign for the Buffs, finishing with 95 kills on 297 attacks. She was one of three CU Freshmen to record at least 95 kills or more during the 2023 season.Â
Ana finished with the fifth most kills on the team, and was also one of five Buffs' to tally double-digit service aces. Burilovic had 29 service aces, good enough for second on the team, only behind another Freshman teammate Avery Bolles who had 52 services aces on the year.Â
