BOULDER — Former Buff Sky Howard has joined the roster of CSO Voluntari, a professional club that is based in Romania.
CSO Voluntari was founded in 2005 and is a Romanian multi-sport club that currently has 13 active sport departments.
Howard joins the club after her stellar 2023 season with the Buffaloes. She is 10th CU player that's currently playing professionally and the 22nd Colorado player to ever reach the pro level.
In 30 matches played for the Buffs, Howard logged 220 kills with a team-leading .368 hitting percentage. Her 148 blocks and 1.32 blocks/set both ranked third in the Pac-12 Conference for the 2023 season. She recorded season career-highs in kills, blocks, and hitting percentage in her lone campaign with the Buffaloes.
Howard now holds the fourth-most blocks in a single-season (148) during the rally scoring era in program history, surpassing Naghede Abu, who had 142 total blocks during the 2015 season. She also moved into fourth-place for single-season hit percentage (.368), taking the place of Kelsey English who had a .361 hit percentage in 2013.
Her most notable match at CU came against Northern Colorado, when Howard had 10 kills on just 11 attempts. The .909 hit percentage tied the CU single-game record, joining Alyssa Valentine as the only Buffs to ever record a hitting percentage of .900 or higher in a single match.
Over her five-year collegiate career, attending North Carolina and Colorado, Howard tallied 611 kills with a .237 hitting percentage along with 396 total blocks.
