Glynn Set School record for Buffs Track & Field

February 09, 2024 | Track and Field

LUBBOCK, Texas & SEATTLE, Wash.—Abbey Glenn set a new 400-m indoor school record, leading a solid day of performances for the Colorado Buffaloes Track & Field teams across two meets in the Texas Tech Jarvis Scott Open and the Husky Invitational.

After narrowly missing the school record last week at the Colorado Invitational, Glynn's time of 51.77 surged past the competition and broke the school record set by Gabby Scott.  Scott set the record of 52.34 at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Indoor Track and Field in Seattle on February 22, 2019.

With her impressive time, Glynn now has the number nine time in the NCAA this season. Two other Buffs also made their mark in the top 20: Emma Polk (54.29) secured a sixth-place finish, while Joy Moorer achieved a personal best of 55.32, landing her in 19th place. Ian Gilmore, who set a personal best last week with a time of 47.32 in the 400, marked another personal best of 47.31, earning a 15th place finish.

In Seattle, the distance runners showcased their talents, led by Ella Baran, who matched her personal best from last season with a time of 8:57.67, securing a respectable seventh-place finish in the 3,000-m run.  Austin Vancil achieved a personal best of 13:44 in the 5,000-m run, earning a third-place finish. Grady Rauba ran a personal best of 7:56.75 in the men's 3,000, placing 15th. Katie Doucette finished 19th in the women's 5,000 with a time of 16:13.12, just shy of her personal best.

The Buffs will continue competition in both meets Saturday.

In Lubbock, Tyler Williams, Ian Gilmore, Garrett Nelson, and Nick Gehring will compete in the 4x400-m relay. Gilmore will also participate in the 200-m. On the women's side, Glynn will compete in the 600-m, while Emma Polk and Joy Moorer will compete in the 200.

At the Husky Invitational, Noah Hibbard, Lukas Haug, Caleb Niednagel, Wilson Georges, and Reese Kibarger-Stumpf will participate in the mile run, while Jacob Culig, Ben Grene, and Ray Lindrud will compete in the 800-m run.  Ella Baran will compete in the women's mile, and Elliot Pribramsky will compete in the 800-m run.
