March 28, 2024 | Lacrosse
BOULDER -- Senior Madeline Pisani was named as a Mid-Season All-American Honorable Mention by Inside Lacrosse on Thursday.
Pisani has a conference-leading 32 goals so far through nine games, and is the only player in the Pac-12 with at least 30 goals. She also has five assists and is 12-14 on free position attempts.Â
The Illinois native has scored two or more goals in every game this season, and three or more goals in eight of nine games. Her 24 goals after the first six games of the year are the most goals scored by a CU player to start a season. The previous-high was 23 goals scored by Charlie Rudy in the first six contests of the 2021 season.Â
Pisani was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week for the Pac-12 and IWLCA earlier in the season after back-to-back impressive performances over Penn State and Saint Joseph's. She lead CU in each game with four goals, including the game-winner in both contests. It was just the third instance in program history when Colorado has claimed the IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week award, last occurring during the 2018 season (Darby Kiernan).
Madeline and the rest of the Buffs will continue conference play at home this Saturday, when they take on the San Diego State Aztecs.Â
