Five Buffs Earn WGCA All-American Scholar Honors

BOULDER — Five Colorado women's golfers were named to the 2023-24 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team the organization announced on Monday.
Recent graduates Sabrina Iqbal and Lauren Waxer-Gooding were joined by rising senior Maria Eidhagen Harrouch, rising junior Morgan Miller and rising sophomore Francesca Sumcad as Colorado's representatives on the squad.
A total of 1,497 women's collegiate golfers from 412 programs were recognized. To be named a WGCA All-American Scholar, a student-athlete must sport a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster the entire season and play in at least 50 percent of a program's regular season events.
Waxer-Gooding, named to the All-American Scholar team for the second time, graduated in May with her bachelor's degree in Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design. Iqbal earned her master of science in Organizational Leadership in May.
Eidhagen Harrouch, a Psychology major, played in 23 rounds over eight events as a first year Buffalo. Miller, majoring in Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design, ranked second on the team with a 73.00 stroke average, ranking as the fifth-best single season mark in team history. Sumcad, an Integrative Physiology major, held a stroke average of 75.91 as a freshman, earning one top 20 finish along the way.
