
Former Colorado Athletes Shine in Basketball, Track, and Climbing

Paris, France -- Colorado athletes are making their mark at the 2024 Paris Olympics, delivering standout performances across basketball, track, and climbing.
Women's Sports Climbing (Semifinal) – Grossman (U.S.A.)
Natalia Grossman finished outside the podium, scoring 69.2 points to finish in fifth place.
Men's Basketball – White (U.S.A.) - Quarterfinals vs. Brazil
USA men's basketball dominated in the quarterfinal bout, defeating Brazil 122-87. The USA was led by Devin Booker with 18 points, while five other players scored in double figures. Colorado's Derrick White contributed five points and four rebounds in 17 minutes of action. The U.S. will face Serbia in the semifinals for an opportunity to play for gold at 1 p.m. (MT) on August 8.
Women's Track and Field (Final) – Constien - 3,000m Steeplechase (U.S.A.), Bird - Steeplechase (U.K.)
Former Buff Valerie Constien finished 15th, ending her second Olympics in the finals. After suffering a major injury, Constien made a remarkable comeback by winning the US Olympic Trials in June, posting a personal-best and meet-record time of 9:03.22. The field was fast, with the top five breaking an Olympic record, a national record, a personal best, and a season best.
Elizabeth Bird set a Great Britain national record with a seventh-place finish and a time of 9:04.35 in the finals of the 3,000m steeplechase.
Former Buff Gabby Scott will be in action in the 400m run semifinals at 1:20 p.m. (MT). Fans can watch online on Peacock.
