El Sayed and Rebec Fall at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – The Colorado Buffaloes tennis team saw Aya El Sayed and Pia Rebec fall in doubles at the ITA All-American Championships at the Cary Tennis Park.
After a few days break El Sayed and Rebec both ramped it back up in the main draw round of 32 at the ITA All-American Championships against Duke's Eleana Yu and Emma Jackson. The duo came into the round seeded No. 6, the highest any Colorado student-athlete has ever been at this event. As the new season begins this was the first match together for El Sayed and Rebec since May.
With the time off the pairing came in a little rusty dropping the first two games of the first set. For the remainder of the first set, they were battling back tying the match at three games apiece, then again at four games. In the end, Jackson and Yu closed the first set winning 6-4.
In the second set they saw tied it all up at one, before Duke would go on to win the next five games to win the second set 6-1 and advance.

The duo will continue tomorrow playing in the consolation rounds of the ITA All-American Championships.
