Colorado takes on Utah on Thursday

IRVING, Texas – Colorado netminder Jordan Nytes made recorded her fifth shutout of the season in the Buffaloes' lone matchup last week against Arizona State, earning herself Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

The honor is the first for Nytes this season and the eighth of her career. She earned five last season on her way to being named the 2024 Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year. The eight Big 12 weekly Goalkeeper of the Week honors are the most by an individual since the award began in the 2020-21 season. Madison White of Texas Tech has 10 weekly honors from 2019-23, with three of them being Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The Aurora, Colo., native stopped all six of Arizona State's shots on goal last Friday in the Buffs' 2-0 win. She made three saves in each half to secure her 10th win of the season. Nytes has now strung together four consecutive seasons with double-digit wins.

With the shutout, Nytes now stands alone in second with third with 24 career clean sheets as a Buff, just one behind tying Jalen Tompkins and Jessica Keller. The win over ASU was also her 35th at CU and 45th of her career. She currently sits third in program history in wins, with 2025 being just her third season in Boulder.

Nytes has totaled 59 saves this season, good for second in the Big 12. She currently ranks fourth among active goalkeepers with a .405 career shutout percentage.

The honor is the 10th of her career. She secured two Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week awards as a sophomore in 2023.
