Colorado is looking to send its five seniors off on a high note

BOULDER — No. 22 Colorado wraps up its 2025 home slate with a showdown against Arizona on Sunday at Prentup Field. The game will be the final regular-season match in front of the Buff Nation for the team's five seniors.

The Buffaloes (12-2-3, 6-1-2) will honor Josie Master, Greer Maguire, Mallory Allen, Emerson Layne and Jordan Nytes in a pre-match ceremony ahead of Sunday's kickoff.

"Emerson, Mal and Josie are the four-year starters, which you don't see a lot of anymore," head coach Danny Sanchez commented after Thursday night's upset over No. 5 Texas Tech. "They've all had different roles and kind of ups and downs, but fantastic young women and great teammates, which is our number one priority to be in our program.

"Greer came in, having not played much at Arkansas," Sanchez continued. "She was there two years, redshirted one year and really solidified herself. You look at Greer, and she didn't play a minute in the first game of the season against Michigan State, kept going, and now we can't get her off the field. And obviously, Jordi is Jordi."

Master, a Newport Beach, Calif., native, has appeared in 18 matches for the Buffs. So far this season, she has played in five matches and recorded her first career goal in Colorado's win over Fordham.

Maguire, another one of the Colorado natives who flock back to Boulder, transferred to CU following her freshman season at Arkansas. She has started 12 matches in the defensive backfield this season and 41 overall at CU. She has played in 58 career matches, totaling four assists and contributing to 24 shutouts.

Allen, an Austin, Texas, native, is now in her fourth season at CU. She has appeared in 73 matches, starting in four. She has career-highs in shots and shots on goal this season and has totaled five assists in her career.

Layne, a four-year Buff from Fort Collins, has started 57 matches and appeared in 79 games. She's recorded a career-high five goals and seven assists this season. She notched the game-winning goal in the Buffs' upset win over No. 7 TCU. Laye ranks sixth in single-season history with her assists this season and has handed out 11 helpers and scored 13 career goals.

Nytes, also a returning Colorado native, started her career at Oklahoma State and was the Big 12's Co-Goalkeeper of the Year as a freshman. She's played in 60 career matches as a Buff, making every start. Nytes ranks tied for 2nd in career wins with 37 and is tied for the program record for career shutouts with 25. She's twice been the Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week this season and has totaled 9 Big 12 weekly honors and two Pac-12 honors in her three seasons at CU. She was a third-team United Soccer Coaches All-American in 2024. She's a two-time Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year, ranks 8th among active Division I goalkeepers in saves and 4th in shutout percentage.

Kickoff is set for noon MT on ESPN+
