Bianco Wins Heptathlon at Riverfront Invitational

SPOKANE, Wash. – The University of Colorado track and field's Nick Bianco recorded a strong second day to capture first place in the heptathlon at the 2025 Riverfront Invitational.
The heptathlon concluded Friday, with Bianco taking first place after entering day two in fourth. Bianco placed first in the high jump, long jump and pole vault, while also placing second in the 60-meter hurdles, accumulating 5,651 points. John Swabik fell to seventh after failing to clear the bar in the pole vault, recording 3,765 points.
With Friday's performance and results around the NCAA, Bianco fell two spots in the performance rankings, sitting just outside the top 16 in 18th place. Swabik ranks 26th.
Freshman John Bass recorded 4,661 points, and Drake Miller recorded 4,307 points. Bass posted a personal best in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:02.47 and the shot put with a toss of 9.97 meters. Miller recorded a personal best in the 60 meters (7.15) and 60-meter hurdles (8.48) and ran a season best in the 1,000 meters (2:51.29).
