BOULDER – Colorado's Johanna Teder and Kindyll Wetta earned Academic All-District as announced by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-American ballot. First, Second and Third-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on April 16.
In order to be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of the matches. Additionally, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA). Graduate student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both undergraduate and graduate students.
Teder, a graduate student transfer this season, was the only player to play all 34 games for the Buffaloes. The Tartu, Estonia, native started 19 games in her first season at CU. Teder, who missed the entire 2023-24 season at Washington State, bounced back from injury this season and averaged 5.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists. She scored in double figures in seven games this season, including a season-high 14 points against Baylor in February. Teder handed out a career-high seven assists in her first CU start, a win over Southern Utah. Teder was also a 2023 CSC Academic All-District honoree and a three-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection.
Wetta emerged as Colorado's starting point guard this season and handed out a career-high 151 assists in her final year. The Castle Rock, Colo., native started all 29 games she played and averaged a career-high 6.1 points per game. Wetta scored in double figures four times this season and recorded her second-career 10-5-5 effort with 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists in CU's WBIT win over Southeastern Louisiana. The 5-9 guard twice handed out a career-high 10 assists against Northern Colorado and Louisville and finished her career seventh in program history with 480 career assists. Wetta has twice previously been CSC All-District in 2023 and 2024. She was also selected to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll three times.
