BOULDER The Colorado track and field program had a strong weekend at the Raleigh Relays and Mines Midweek Meet, placing 20 athletes among the NCAA top 50 in their respective events.

USTFCCCA released its first national rankings of the outdoor season this week. Both Colorado squads earned top-30 spots. The men's team debuted at No. 26, their highest ranking since 2016, while the women checked in at No. 29, their best outdoor ranking since 2019.
Colorado's men's 5,000- and 10,000-meter groups rank second in the nation after opening the weekend with top times in the country, while the women's 400-meter hurdles group sits ninth nationally. The Buffs' men's javelin throwers also earned a national ranking, coming in at No. 32.

Several Buffs also moved up the program's all-time performance lists. Kole Mathison now ranks fifth in CU history in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Cole Romig's 51.58 in the 400-meter hurdles puts him at No. 8. In the 10,000 meters, James Overberg climbed to fifth all-time and Dean Casey to seventh. John Swabik's leap of 24-3.5 in the long jump also entered the top 10.

On the women's side, Kati Baeuerle's 15:37.37 in the 5,000 meters now ranks ninth in CU history, and Hannah Prosser's 32:49.37 in the 10,000 meters moved her to seventh on the all-time list.

Colorado was scheduled to host the Jerry Quiller Classic this weekend at Potts Field, but the meet was canceled due to weather. The Buffs will now travel to Golden to compete at the Kit Mayer Classic, hosted by Colorado School of Mines, on April 12.
