McKinney, Seaton Earn Preseason All-Big 12 Honors

July 07, 2025 | Football

BOULDER — Colorado OT Jordan Seaton and CB DJ McKinney were named to the 2025 Preseason All-Big 12 Football Team, the conference announced Monday, as voted on by the league's media.

Seaton is coming off a strong freshman season in Boulder, where he started 13 games at left tackle and became the first true freshman offensive lineman to start a season opener for CU since 1989. A Freshman All-American and All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2024, Seaton helped anchor an offensive line that showed significant improvement throughout the season.

McKinney, a junior cornerback, started all 13 games in 2024 and had three interceptions and nine pass breakups to go with 62 total tackles, including five at or behind the line of scrimmage.  An honorable mention All-Big 12 performer last season, he played 840 snaps on defense, the most on the team.

Last year, DE BJ Green II, ATH Travis Hunter (both offense and defense), and QB Shedeur Sanders all were named to the preseason team.  The Buffaloes open the 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29, against North Dakota State at Folsom Field.

The two players along with QBs Julian Lewis and Kaidon Salter and PK Alejandro Mata will be in Dallas on Wednesday, taking part in Big 12 Media Day.
