
Colorado Volleyball to Appear at Big 12 Virtual Media Days

BOULDER – The Colorado Buffaloes will be joining the rest of the Big 12 Conference for virtual media day on Thursday, Aug. 7.
The representatives for the Buffs will be head coach Jesse Mahoney and junior pin attacker Lily Dwinell. Big 12 Volleyball Virtual Media Days will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 12:00 p.m. MT on ESPN+ with the release of the preseason poll and awards.

Head Coach Jesse Mahoney is entering his 10th season at the helm of Colorado Volleyball. During his ninth season (2024), CU returned to the Big 12, finishing the season 13-17 and 6-12 against conference opponents. After the conclusion of the regular season, sophomore OH Ana Burilovic was selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team, and sophomores DS/L Avery Bolles and OH Sydney Jordan were both named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. The Buffs registered five dominant sweeps in the 2024 season, including victories over Cincinnati (Nov. 9) and Kansas State on senior night (Nov. 27). CU also played in nine five-set matches in 2024, seeing victories over six teams and three five-set victories in a row in October – against Texas Tech on Oct. 5, at UCF on Oct. 13 and at Arizona on Oct. 16.
The Buffs open their 2025 season at Rumble in the Rockies, and invitational in Laramie, Wyo., where they will face Cleveland State (Aug. 29), Tulsa (Aug. 30) and Wyoming (Aug. 31). Before competition in Boulder, CU will travel to Irvine, Calif., for the UCI/adidas Invitational and face Fresno State (Sept. 4), UPenn (Sept. 5) and UC Irvine (Sept. 6). Colorado returns home to host the Buffs Invitational at the CU Events Center from Sept. 12-14, with matches against Arkansas, Toledo and Denver. The Buffs will play nonconference in-state rival Colorado State in Fort Collins on Sept. 18, followed by a rematch in the Battle for the Golden Spike series at the CUEC on Sept. 19. Conference games will begin on Sept. 25 when the Buffs face BYU in Provo, Utah.
