
Georges, Haug Lead Buffs at Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Colorado Buffaloes cross country team continued its strong start to the 2025 season at the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede.
The men's squad once again produced a dominant showing, scoring a near-perfect 16 points by sweeping the top four individual spots. Wilson Georges and Lukas Haug crossed the line together in 17:40.0, with Georges awarded the win. Charles Robertson followed in 17:43.5, while Tanner Newkirk finished close behind at 17:43.7. Kole Mathison (18:01.6) and Drew Costelow (18:12.8) rounded out the top 10 of the 42-man field. The Buffs claimed the team title with a total time of 1:28:48 over the 6-kilometer course.

Colorado returns to action at the Roadrunners Invitational, hosted by MSU Denver, on Saturday, Sept. 20.
