BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team (11-4, 2-1 Big 12) goes back on the road this week to face No. 16 Baylor (13-3, 2-1 Big 12) on Jan. 8 at Foster Pavilion in Waco, Texas, at 6 p.m. MT.
The Buffs will face the Bears for the 23rd time in program history, and CU looks to snap a 10-game losing streak to Baylor. The Buffs-Bears rivalry dates back to 1980, when Colorado started on a five-game win streak. Last season, the CU met with Baylor twice – the Buffs fell most recently, 84-62, at CU Events Center on Feb. 19, 2025.
On New Year's Eve earlier this week, the Buffs hosted Arizona for their conference home opener. CU flipped the script from its previous loss to ASU, getting out ahead of the Wildcats early in the first quarter and leading the whole way. Four Buffs managed double-digit points for the eighth and ninth games this season, including senior forward Anaëlle Dutat, who had her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds against the Arizona Wildcats.

- CU is led by 10th-year head coach JR Payne, who has led the Buffs to a 175-120 (.593) record as CU's eighth head women's basketball coach. Coach Payne has been extended through the 2028 season and has led the Buffs to three NCAA appearances, two WNIT appearances and one WBIT appearance.
- In its second year back in the Big 12, Colorado was picked to finish ninth in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. Colorado is 111-150 (.425) overall in Big 12 conference play.

- Jr. G Zyanna Walker is tied for fifth in conference for steals per game with 2.3. She is also tied for 22nd in the Big 12 for assists per game (2.7).
- Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat is third in conference for rebounds per game with 8.4 and tied for 12th for steals per game (2.1). Versus Arizona, Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat had her ninth career double-double and third of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds (Dec. 31). This was the Buffs' fourth double-double across this season and the first since Fr. F Logyn Greer had 12 points and 12 rebounds against Miami (OH) (Dec. 14).
- Sr. F Jade Masogayo is tied for 18th in conference for blocks per game with 0.8.
- Jr. G Desiree Wooten led the Buffs in scoring against Cincinnati while setting a new season-high 19 points (Jan. 3).
- As a team, the Buffs are third in the Big 12 for steals per game (11.27), fourth for offensive rebounds per game (13.5), fifth for free throw percentage (73.5%), sixth for rebounding margin (8.0) and seventh for scoring defense (59.5).
