Rasun-Antholz, Italy – She's now officially a three-time Olympian.  She has now officially pulled off one of the best comebacks of the 2026 Winter Olympic games.

Former Colorado standout Joanne Reid completed her return to the Olympic stage Wednesday at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, competing in the women's 15K individual biathlon at the Antholz-Anterselva Biathlon Arena.

Reid finished 68th, crossing the line 6:53.1 behind gold medalist Julia Simon of France. Starting 70th, she moved up two positions in the final standings.

She delivered a strong performance on the shooting range, hitting all 10 of her prone targets and going 6-for-10 in the standing stages.

Reid started strong in the first kilometer and was in 27th place before slipping to 61st entering the first shooting stage, where she hit all five targets in the first prone section.  She moved up to 33rd after that section and maintained a top 40 position entering the second shooting stage.  After missing two, she slipped into the 60s where she remained into the third shooting stage.

She was again perfect in prone, moving up to the lower 50s before slipping to 69th after the second shooting stage. She picked up one position in the final 2K after the final shooting stage.

With her start, Reid officially became a three-time Olympian. Simply reaching the start line marked a significant achievement. After stepping away from the sport, she made the decision less than a year ago to return to international competition with the goal of qualifying for another Olympic Games. The University of Colorado Athletic Hall of Famer worked her way back onto the World Cup circuit and earned her place on Team USA, completing one of the most impressive comeback stories of these Olympic Games.

Next up for the Buffs at the Olympics will be Stacy Gaskill in the Snowboard Cross competition on Friday.  Reid will be back in action Saturdy with the 7.5K sprint race, the same day Ryder Sarchett will make his debut in the giant slalom race.
