Newcomer Spotlight Series: Logyn Greer

February 03, 2026 | Women's Basketball

BOULDER - The Colorado Women's Basketball team added 10 new players to the roster ahead of the 2025-26 season. In order to get to know them all a little better, we're introducing the Newcomer Spotlight Series to highlight the five freshmen and five transfers on our squad.

Next up is freshman forward Logyn Greer.

Growing up, did you play any other sports?
I played flag football in middle school, and that was it.

What drew you to basketball?
My whole family played growing up – my mom, dad, brother, everybody played. It just made it so easy to play, and then I fell in love [with it].

When did you start playing basketball?
Seven, like second grade.

Why did you choose to come to CU?
The coaching staff, the atmosphere. It just felt like a really welcoming program. I felt at home here.

What do you like about living in Colorado?
People are really friendly. They're really welcoming. And the mountains are also a plus. Yeah, you get to walk by those, drive by those every day.

Who do you look up to on the team?
Jade Masogayo. She's probably the reason why I committed here. I wanted to play with her. She's just an infectious person on and off the court, so I just look up to her.

What are you most excited about for the rest of the season?
Winning games, traveling to places I've never been like, I've never been to like Utah or Kansas. I [had] never been to Kansas, so I [was] just excited to go.

Do you have any pregame rituals or foods that you like to eat before a game?
Just listen to music, like rap.

Why did you choose media production as your major?
[I'm] just trying to learn the basics and then try to see what I like really gravitate to.

Why do you want to do photography and videography as a career?
In high school, I took a photography class for fun, and I really enjoyed doing it. Then I did it outside of school. And then I was just like, why not just make it my major? I also did some freelance stuff for the men's team. I got the opportunity to do that. So just trying to get a feel for everything.

What do you like to do outside of basketball?
Just sleep. Watch shows. I'm a homebody as much as I can be.

What shows do you like to watch?
"Vampire Diaries" is on repeat. I'm watching "Power" right now. Those are my main ones.

Do you mostly watch TV shows, or do you also watch movies?
I did just watch "The Perfect Find" on Netflix, but I'm more of a TV show person.
