Colorado now has three players featured on the award's watch list
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Colorado lacrosse had a pair of players added to the watch list for the watch list for the 2026 Tewaaraton Award presented by Stifel on Thursday, the organization announced.
Senior attacker Maddie Shoup and sophomore goalkeeper Elena Oh joined senior attacker Jess Peluso, who was named to the initial list back in February.
Founded in 2001, the Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
Shoup turned heads across the nation with her five-goal performance in the Buffaloes' season-opening upset win at No. 2 Northwestern. She has continued her impressive start to the season with goals in every game, including a five-point day at No. 22 Army last Sunday. Shoup has totaled 12 goals and six assists this season and leads the team with 18 points.
Oh has been stellar in goal for the Buffs early on in 2026. She ranks fifth in the NCAA in save % (.543) and goals-against average (6.56). Oh has won all four Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week awards this season, having not allowed more than 10 goals in any of CU's five games this season. She is coming off a combined 20-save performance in a pair of ranked-road contests at then No. 18 Stony Brook and No. 22 Army. Her 12 saves at Stony Brook matched her career high.
The Buffs will take on their third consecutive ranked opponent in No. 8 Michigan on Sunday. First draw from Ann Arbor is set for 11 a.m. MT.
