April 01, 2026 | Lacrosse
BOULDER – Colorado picked up two Big 12 Player of the Week Awards, marking the 11th and 12th weekly conference awards that CU has earned this season. Senior midfielder Lily Assini earned Midfielder of the Week, and senior defender Jess Peluso received Draw Specialist of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday, April 1.
Assini, the senior from Englewood, Colo., matched her career high in points with six and goals with four in the conference opener against San Diego State (Mar. 28). Additionally, she reached 100 career points in the match up against the Aztecs, now totaling 103 career points. Assini also had five shots on goal and picked up one groundball. This is the first weekly conference award of her career.
Peluso, the defender from East Islip, N.Y., earned her fourth conference award of the season and seventh of her career. This is her first time receiving Draw Specialist of the Week, which comes after her eight draw controls and five caused turnovers in the game against San Diego State (Mar. 28).
The Buffs will travel to Gainesville, Fla., to face No. 5 Florida, on Saturday, April 4. First draw is set for 10 a.m. MT and fans can tune in on ESPN+.
